The Financial Conduct Authority Regulatory Sandbox is a testbed designed to increase innovation in financial services with fewer regulatory constraints. Firms are accepted into the sandbox on two 'cohort approaches' a year with eligibility criteria stating that it is genuine innovation, that it benefits customers, needs and is ready for testing in the sandbox, and that it is meant for the UK financial services market.
