An extensive area of the Trondheim fjord has been designated as an official test bed for autonomous shipping by the Norwegian Coastal Authorities dedicated to the development of technology for autonomous ships.

Testbed purpose

The test bed is aiming to keep Norway in front of technological progress in shipping. it is an official follow-up to the Norwegian Government's new National Transport Plan.
